THE JANSKYS – WHEN SILENCE SPEAKS

When manifested in iTunes, this album claims to be indie rock.

It is, but also, it isn’t.  Songs like ‘Tell Me’ ‘Motion Sickness’ and ‘That Way’ have a definite indie spine but fleshed out with folk.  ‘Lost’ is set against a delicate dance backdrop and sounds like The Rapture.  ‘Better Day’ could be a Radiohead tune.  To surmise ‘When Silence Speaks’ in a sentence the album sounds very much like The Maccabees decided to start frequenting Fagans. I think I really quite like this album – it’s unlike anything I’ve heard in a while, and it’s brilliantly produced.
